Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position is for a Paraprofessional role supporting a student on a 1:1 basis at an elementary school in Lees Summit, MO. The assignment runs from April 6th through May 28th, with work hours from 8:30 AM to 3:55 PM. The student may exhibit behaviors including aggression, so candidates must be comfortable managing challenging behaviors and assisting with toileting as needed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct behavioral and educational support to the assigned student
- Implementing behavior management strategies and supporting positive outcomes
- Assisting with personal care and toileting when necessary
- Collaborating with school staff and following established protocols for behavior interventions
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Active paraprofessional certification or equivalent credentials required
- Experience working with students exhibiting challenging behaviors preferred
- MANDT or CPI training required or preferred to ensure safe and effective behavior management
- Ability to work independently and follow supervision guidelines as necessary
- Comfortable handling physical and behavioral needs in a school setting

This is a contract role for the spring term with potential for extension or additional opportunities. The position involves close collaboration with special education staff and requires professionalism and reliability.
