A busy retail pharmacy in Mount Sterling, Kentucky is seeking a full-time Staff Pharmacist to contribute expertise and dedication within a thriving pharmacy environment. This role offers the opportunity to work with a supportive team, utilizing advanced pharmacy systems, while delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced setting.
Location: Mount Sterling, KY
Position Type: Full-Time, Contract to Hire
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (four weekdays per week)
- Saturday coverage 1–2 times per month, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify prescriptions for accuracy and safety, ensuring the highest standards.
- Provide thorough patient counseling and address medication-related inquiries.
- Oversee pharmacy workflow and collaborate with pharmacy technicians.
- Utilize PioneerRx system to effectively process and manage approximately 3,000 prescriptions weekly.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to patients and pharmacy staff alike.
- Assist with Saturday pharmacy operations as scheduled.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Kentucky Pharmacist license in good standing.
- Recent retail pharmacy experience preferred, comfortable in a high-volume environment.
- Familiarity with PioneerRx pharmacy management system is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and commitment to excellent patient care.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Flexibility to provide weekend coverage 1 to 2 Saturdays per month.
Work Environment:
- Weekdays staffed with 2 pharmacists and 5 to 6 pharmacy technicians, ensuring solid support.
- Saturdays staffed with 1 pharmacist and 3 to 4 technicians.
- Dynamic, high-volume retail pharmacy dispensing approximately 3,000 prescriptions weekly.
