Job Description Accountant
Are you an experienced accounting professional seeking a dynamic opportunity in a collaborative environment? Our client is looking for an Accountant to join their Finance & Accounting team. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced settings and enjoy supporting both daily operations and strategic financial initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily accounting activities, including preparing and posting journal entries, managing accruals, and reconciling bank and balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, depreciation, amortization, and leases.
- Oversee workflow for expense management systems and support quarterly financial statement preparation and consolidated reporting.
- Assist with internal and external audits, monitor internal controls, and document procedures.
- Identify and recommend process improvements in accounting, payments, and financial reporting.
- Provide management with information related to monthly results, budgets, variance analysis, and other financial and management reporting tasks.
- Support basic bookkeeping and payment processing, and serve as a backup for other accounting team members.
- Participate in compliance activities and tax-related tasks.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders.
- Manage daily operational accounting activities, including invoice settlements, interface maintenance, and feed reconciliation.
- Assist with monthly closing processes, commodity inventory bookings, and monitoring of sales, purchases, and transportation.
- Prepare and maintain procedures related to operational accounting and internal controls.
- Coordinate with commercial teams to ensure accurate trade capture and monitor commodity settlements.
- Maintain master data for trading systems and assist with financial statement disclosures related to operations.
- Support compliance with sales, use, and property tax requirements, including maintaining exemption certificates.
- Act as a point of contact for internal and external audits for operating entities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in general accounting.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a diverse setting.
Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
