Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding opportunity working with a dedicated group of young learners as a Speech-Language Pathologist on a contract basis. Conveniently located near Newark, this position supports students aged 3–8, mainly preschoolers, in a nurturing school environment. The assignment covers a maternity leave from September 8 through October 20, with the possibility of extension based on return dates.
You’ll enjoy a manageable caseload of about 25 students, primarily preschoolers, and have the chance to make a meaningful impact with those in self-contained programs, including students with multiple disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and preschool disabilities. Work Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., giving you dedicated hours to focus on student progress while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
What you bring:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) eligibility
- Experience or strong interest in pediatric, school-based speech therapy
- Comfort working with preschoolers and students with disabilities, including ASD
- Ability to collaborate with other staff and engage with families
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
Your role will include:
- Assessing and providing targeted speech-language services to a diverse student population
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Documenting progress and maintaining student records
- Participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings
- Supporting students’ communication goals in both one-on-one and group settings
