We are seeking an Electrical Engineer I to support the design, testing, and manufacturing of industrial electrical and test systems. The Electrical Engineer I focuses on learning company standards, tools, and processes while contributing to well-defined tasks across product development and sustaining engineering efforts.
Responsibilities and duties;
- Assist with the development and review of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and bills of materials (BOM)
- Perform basic circuit design, analysis, and troubleshooting under guidance
- Support testing and validation activities using standard electrical measurement tools
- Participate in hands-on prototyping, wiring, and assembly of electrical systems and test fixtures
- Document test results, design changes, and engineering updates
- Support Manufacturing Engineering with OMS documentation, including work instructions and process flow diagrams
- Troubleshoot basic electrical issues during development and production with support from senior engineers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and test engineering
Qualifications and Skills
- Core Electrical Engineering Fundamentals
- Strong understanding of basic electrical engineering principles
- Knowledge of simple circuit design, analysis, and troubleshooting (DC/AC circuits, power supplies, basic analog and digital concepts)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Familiarity with electrical CAD tools; Autodesk Electrical exposure preferred
- Hands-on comfort using hand tools for wiring, assembly, and prototyping

- Experience using common electrical test equipment such as:
- Multimeters
- Power supplies
- Oscilloscopes (basic use)
- Ability to follow test procedures and accurately document results

Programming Fundamentals
- Basic programming skills in one or more languages such as:
- C / C++
- Python
- Java
- Ability to read, modify, and debug simple scripts or programs used for testing or automation

Professional & Technical Skills
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn engineering standards, safety practices, and compliance requirements

Education
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
- Internship, co-op, academic project, or lab experience supporting electrical systems is a plus

Preferred Skills
- Exposure to industrial control systems or control panel design
- Familiarity with UL508A / UL508A.NITW concepts or documentation
- Exposure to PLC programming or HMI / GUI development
- RF fundamentals or coursework related to RF systems and testing
- Experience with RF filters or high-power electrical systems (academic or internship level)
- 3D modeling exposure
- Familiarity with Autodesk Vault or other PDM systems
- Introductory engineering project management skills, including:
- Creating block or flow diagrams
- Assisting with schedules or Gantt charts
- Supporting prototype builds and iterations
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be in a stationary position; move within the facilities, constantly operate machining equipment and tools, inspect surroundings and equipment, occasionally ascends/descends a ladder, communicate with others, detect odors, and transport equipment up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment: high noise level associated with a manufacturing facility
