Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in Derry, NH. This role focuses on delivering individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs, fostering academic growth, and promoting inclusive classroom environments throughout the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to modify curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal special education guidelines.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage students and address different learning styles.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success.
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with middle school-aged students in a special education setting.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt lessons and materials to meet individual student needs.
- Patience, creativity, and commitment to fostering student achievement.
