Job DescriptionPosition Summary:The Label Quality Control Specialist ensures the accuracy and compliance of all product labels across the inventory lifecycle. This role involves inspecting current label inventory, evaluating upcoming print proofs, and auditing documentation for incoming shipments. Operating with high autonomy, the Specialist logs discrepancies, collaborates with approval authorities for final dispositions, and partners with Production QC teams to resolve active manufacturing issues while maintaining the internal label revision database.
Label Inspection and Auditing: Conduct comprehensive quality checks on existing physical label inventory and newly designed or updated artwork slated for active print production to ensure strict adherence to technical and text specifications.
Discrepancy Resolution and Disposition: Actively isolate and catalog any identified formatting, graphical, or textual errors. Draft clear variance profiles and present findings directly to relevant approval authorities to formally secure a compliance disposition.
Inbound Logistical Verification: Thoroughly inspect documentation and release forms associated with new shipments of labeling components to verify supplier accuracy, lot tracking numbers, and compliance credentials.
Production Team Interfacing: Partner closely with the Production Quality Control (QC) floor teams to quickly troubleshoot and mitigate labeling deviations that emerge during active assembly and packaging cycles.
Database Lifecycle Management: Maintain and oversee the company's internal labeling database, comprehensively document revisions, past versions, historical change logs, and current releases.
Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Attention to Detail: Precision visual acuity to spot subtle typographical, structural, or design shifts against reference standards.
Inspection Skills: Practical experience inspecting finished goods using standard sampling methods.
Deviation Documentation: Strong aptitude for professionally writing and archiving quality deviations and error profiles.
Team Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to coordinate cross-functionally across Production, Compliance, and Management groups.
Regulations and Safety: Ability to strictly enforce and maintain compliance with industry-specific regulations and workplace safety standards.
Project Management: Demonstrate capability to track, prioritize, and balance multiple label projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Independent Execution: Proven ability to work self-sufficiently and drive tasks to completion without structural micromanagement.
Working Conditions and Demands: This role operates within a hybrid setting that encompasses structured office workloads alongside active inspection environments inside warehouse or production facilities. Candidates must be comfortable standing for moderate durations during inspections.
