Staff Pharmacist
Schedule: Full-Time | 4 Days per Week | 10-Hour Shifts (Monday–Friday)
Shift Hours: Rotating weekly between 9:00 AM–7:00 PM and 10:00 AM–8:00 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of prescription medications, providing expert medication counseling, maintaining regulatory compliance, and collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and dispense prescription medications accurately and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and identify potential overuse, misuse, or drug-related concerns.
- Provide consultations regarding prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, storage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Educate patients on the proper use of medications and medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Answer patient questions and provide guidance on medication therapy and wellness services.
- Compound medications for internal and external use as needed.
- Prepare sterile solutions following established procedures and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, pharmacy files, and documentation.
- Ensure appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
- Identify and resolve medication-related issues while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians, clerks, interns, and other pharmacy staff.
- Provide patient care services such as smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure screenings, and cholesterol management.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations and professional standards.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
- Current, active Pharmacist license in good standing with the applicable State Board of Pharmacy.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, medication therapy management, and pharmaceutical care practices.
- Experience with sterile compounding and medication preparation preferred.
- Excellent communication, patient counseling, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
