Job DescriptionPosition: LVN / LPN – Correctional Setting

Shift: Day Shift – 5x8 Hours (06:00 – 14:00)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Location: Attica, New York

Position Summary

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, physician, or other licensed healthcare provider and in accordance with applicable state nursing regulations, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care within a correctional healthcare setting.

The nurse performs clinical tasks and procedures consistent with individualized treatment plans, administers prescribed medications, and supports the maintenance of patient health while preventing illness and injury.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established treatment plans

• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses

• Obtain and document vital signs including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respirations

• Observe and report changes in patient health status to supervising RN or physician

• Assist licensed healthcare providers in identifying patient needs

• Maintain accurate medical charts and documentation of treatments and patient conditions

• Monitor medication effectiveness and report adverse reactions

• Follow facility policies, procedures, and correctional healthcare protocols

• Ensure compliance with applicable nursing practice regulations

• Support infection control and safety standards within the facility
