Salty's is hiring Buffet Attendants for our Sunday Bruch Buffet. Must be available for an early morning start time. The position will be Sunday's only to start with more hours available working in the kitchen as utility and prep crew over time for the right candidates.

A buffet attendant is responsible for maintaing the cleanliness and presentation of the buffet area. Your primary duties include monitoring food levels, keeping the buffet clean and organized, and providing friendly service to guests. Key responsibilities of the buffet attendant:

  • Food replenishment: Regularly check and refill buffet trays with fresh food items, maintaining a visually appealing presentation.
  • Cleanliness and organization: Keep the buffet area clean and organized, including wiping down surfaces, clearing dirty dishes, and arranging utensils properly.
  • Guest service: Assist guests with food selections, answer questions about menu items, and address any dietary concerns or direct guest to Chef.
  • Food safety: Adhere to proper food handling procedures, including temperature monitoring and rotation of food items.
  • Inventory management: Communicate with kitchen staff regarding food needs and potential shortages.
  • Setup and breakdown: Prepare the buffet area before service by setting up trays, plates, and utensils, and clean up afterwards.
  • Compliance with standards: Follow all restaurant policies and procedures related to food service and sanitation.

Skills and qualifications for a buffet attendant:

  • Customer service skills: Ability to interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Attention to detail: Maintaining the visual appeal of the buffet and ensuring food is presented properly
  • Physical stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift trays of food
  • Basic food knowledge: Understanding of different food items and proper food handling practices
  • Teamwork skills: Collaborating with other staff members to ensure smooth service

Essential Qualifications:

  • An upbeat guest first attitude required
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs
  • An ability to talk about food!
  • Ability to work on feet and navigate stairs
