The Staff Accountant provides monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting support for the Firm's clients. This role requires the ability to multitask and perform accounting tasks for multiple service lines across the Firm. The Staff Accountant will maintain their assigned workload efficiently and effectively while adhering to professional standards. Responsibilities include maintaining financial records, assisting with preparation of client financial statements, and supporting the CAAS department. Additional work hours may be required during tax season.
Reports To
Senior Accountants, Supervisor, or Manager within the CAAS team.
Responsibilities
- Provide accounting and finance support for multiple clients of varying size and complexity.
- Prepare general ledger journal entries, fixed asset tracking, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
- Assist with financial statements in conformity with GAAP.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding financial and accounting activities.
- Complete client work and produce deliverables accurately and on time.
- Coordinate with staff to ensure accuracy of posted transactions (A/P, A/R, Fixed Assets).
- Reconcile payroll reports to financial statements.
- Research and resolve financial discrepancies for monthly/quarterly write-up processes.
- Participate in client meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
- Other duties as assigned.
Core Schedule
Monday-Friday; Saturdays during tax season as agreed upon with CAAS Supervisor or Manager.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
- Minimum 2+ years of related work experience in accounting or business.
- CPA license or CPA candidate helpful but not required.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and Online), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel), Bill.com, PCS, CCH Fixed Assets, Adobe, ADP, and other payroll platforms.
- Strong organizational skills, confidentiality, and positive attitude.
- Ability to manage and prioritize large workloads independently and collaboratively.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
Pay Details: $28.00 to $32.00 per hour
