Job Description

This role involves assembling products using hand and power tools, following detailed instructions, diagrams, and blueprints to ensure high-quality output. You will operate tools, equipment, and processes with increasing independence, support continuous improvement initiatives, and help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient production environment. The position offers hands-on work, opportunities to broaden your skills, and the potential to grow into higher-level roles within the organization.

Shift: 2nd Shift 2pm-10:15pm Monday - Friday (following a 6 week paid training period that would occur on 1st shift schedule)

Additionally, have openings on the 1st shift schedule if preferred.

Pay: $19.00-$22.25 per hour (Based off skills & shift availability)

Responsibilities

  • Operate tools, equipment, and production processes in accordance with provided instructions, and leverage prior experience to work with limited or no instructions when appropriate.
  • Will be referring to digital diagrams and instructions to build sub-units to specification.
  • Performing visual inspections of raw materials, assemblies through the process, and final stages.
  • Follow standard work procedures, including quality policies and customer specifications, to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Monitor your own work for accuracy and quality, and communicate effectively with supervisors, escalating issues or concerns when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of time worked, labor tracking, inventory control, process documentation, scrap, and quality data.
  • Support and actively participate in improvement initiatives focused on safety, cleanliness, product quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Consistently complete assignments on time without compromising quality, and manage workload and tasks effectively.
  • Train other team members on tasks and processes when assigned, contributing to a cross-functional and knowledgeable team.
  • Adapt to changing priorities, tasks, and processes, and remain comfortable completing different types of work on a frequent basis.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing or similar hands-on environment.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly diagrams and blueprints.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use computers for data entry, documentation, and reference materials.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience reading and working from schematics in addition to blueprints and diagrams.
  • Familiarity with maintaining process documentation, inventory records, and quality records.
  • Experience participating in or supporting continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, cleanliness, quality, or efficiency.
  • Comfort training others on tasks and processes when needed.
  • Willingness to keep certifications and training up to date as requirements evolve.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.25/hr.
