Job DescriptionWe are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations for a Contract position based in Sacramento, California. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in accounting support who can manage transactional tasks accurately and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. The role will focus on maintaining financial records, processing routine accounting activities, and helping ensure timely completion of billing and payment functions.
Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and assist with timely payment of approved expenses.
• Prepare and post customer billing transactions while helping maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
• Enter financial and customer data into accounting systems with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up with customers regarding overdue payments and collection activity.
• Reconcile account information, identify discrepancies, and support resolution of routine accounting issues.
• Use QuickBooks and Microsoft Office applications to maintain reports, track transactions, and organize financial records.
• Assist with filing, document management, and other administrative tasks that support the accounting function.• At least 1 year of experience in an accounting support or clerical accounting role.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoice processing procedures.
• Experience using QuickBooks for data entry, transaction tracking, or account maintenance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to perform accurate data entry and manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with collections activities and clear communication related to payment follow-up.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
