OVERVIEW:
The Relocation Intake Coordinator is a key member of the Relocation team that is responsible for conducting household relocation assessments and re-assessments required at housing sites in order to gather information needed for resident's successful relocation. The position involves conducting meetings with households, entering assessment data into a cloud-based platform, and running reports on this data for HOU staff as well as the development team. A positive attitude and a solutions-based approach are expected when interacting with residents and the client. The Relocation Intake Coordinator will represent HOU at internal and external events and is expected to advance HOU's mission and reputation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In accordance with the construction schedule, contact households via phone, email, text or home visit to schedule in-home relocation assessments.
- Coordinate monthly tabling events in the building lobbies as an additional means of scheduling relocation assessment appointments.
- Conduct relocation re-assessments for residents whose assessment was completed more than 90 days prior.
- Attend virtual weekly meetings with the client and provide reports on assessment data in accordance with established format.
- As part of the assessment process, identify and communicate to the Senior Relocation Coordinator those households with special needs, including, but not limited to:
- Hoarding, clutter or excessive furnishings
- Pest issues
- Mobility issues
- Mental health concerns
- Frail elders
- Serious medical concerns and medical equipment
- Hearing or visual impairments
- Households with different occupants than listed on lease
- Households refusing to move
- Identify and communicate to the Senior Relocation Coordinator households interested in the PBV program and/or Aging in Place units and provide updates to the client.
- Participate in resident and community meetings and drop-in sessions.
- Regularly update and maintain relocation files, database, and relocation tracking reports
- Participate in weekly supervision and scheduled site meetings with the Senior Relocation Coordinator or Project Manager
- Communicate in Spanish (both written and orally) with residents, when needed
- Ensure relocation files contain required documentation, and the data-tracking system is updated regularly
- Provide support to HOU team around the relocation process, as needed, to include conducting DSS inspections, distributing notices, providing packing supplies, supervising moves, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Experience in relocation services, social services, customer service, or other similar fields preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office as well as database applications
- Must have excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Able to work with diverse populations and communicate effectively with numerous stakeholder groups, including staff, clients, and residents
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize responsibilities and work under strict time constraints on various projects
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to walk up to 4 miles per day and ascend at least four flights of stairs at a time
- Self-directed and able to work independently
- Ability to work evenings and weekends is required
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background screen
