Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

This role operates rainware roll forming and slitting equipment in a manufacturing environment, ensuring accurate production of parts to specification. The Machine Operator sets up and adjusts machinery, inspects parts for quality, performs basic maintenance, and supports general production and warehouse activities while following all safety and housekeeping standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate rainware roll former and slitter machines in the shop according to work orders and production schedules.
  • Configure and operate all functions of assigned machines and equipment, including adjusting settings for different material thicknesses, clamp placements, and specific job requirements.
  • Read, interpret, and complete production orders accurately to ensure correct materials, dimensions, and quantities.
  • Inspect parts using tape measures, scales, calipers, and computerized measuring devices to verify they meet quality and dimensional specifications.
  • Perform secondary operations on manufactured parts, such as cleaning and finishing, as required by the job.
  • Arrange and stage parts as needed for production, including placing raw stock, work-in-progress, and completed jobs in appropriate storage or production areas.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to support safe and reliable operation.
  • Conduct visual safety checks for machine wear, damage to tooling, and proper positioning of safety guards before and during operation.
  • Assist other machine operators as needed and support other departments with warehouse and production tasks when required.
  • Follow all safety regulations and procedures, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the assigned work area.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area throughout the shift.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe manner, immediately reporting any issues or hazards to the appropriate personnel.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience with machine operation in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Ability to operate roll forming equipment, stamping presses, press brakes, and similar production machinery.
  • Proficiency using a tape measure and basic measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively for basic adjustments and secondary operations.
  • Capability to read and follow production orders and shop documentation accurately.
  • General labor experience in a manufacturing setting, including material handling and assembly tasks.
  • Ability to perform basic preventive maintenance and visual safety checks on machines and tooling.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate equipment safely and follow established safety procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with roll forming processes and equipment.
  • Experience in production work involving press brake, stamping press, or similar metal fabrication machinery.
  • Prior experience in assembly work within a manufacturing environment.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, production-driven setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality when inspecting parts and completing documentation.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work cooperatively with other machine operators and departments.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to stand and reach with hands and arms for extended periods.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to regularly walk, sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required by production tasks.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift, with assistance, up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment

This position works in a clean manufacturing facility that can be loud at times due to production equipment. You will operate and be around machinery such as roll formers, slitting equipment, press brakes, stamping presses, and other production and material-handling tools. The role requires standing, walking, and handling materials throughout the shift, with regular lifting of up to 25 pounds, frequent lifting up to 45 pounds, and occasional assisted lifting up to 100 pounds. Safety is a priority, and you must use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures while maintaining an orderly and organized work area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mcclellan, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
