Who you will be working with:

Dora Hotel Company provides first-class hospitality experience in overseeing 20-plus properties throughout Indiana and is seeking a Hospitality Staff Accountant to join their team. The Hospitality Staff Accountant will be responsible for the accounting of a group of hotel properties including: bank reconciliations, cash management, preparation and filing of monthly tax reporting, general ledger account reconciliations and preparation of financial statements. They would report directly to the Controller and assist in finding innovative solutions in managing the day to day operations of the accounting department.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

Experience: 1–3 years of professional accounting experience, with a strong preference for previous hospitality or hotel accounting.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., M3, ProfitSword) and hotel Property Management Systems (PMS).

Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI), GAAP, and hotel-specific operations (POS, daily audits).

What you will be doing:

· Ensure daily, weekly and monthly accounting transactions are accurate for hotel properties

· Prepares and reconciles monthly financial statements

· Prepare and post journal entries

· Review preliminary financial statements with Controller, General and Regional Managers

· Conduct monthly financial reviews

· Prepare month end reports

· Reconciliation of the balance sheet

· Preparation/Review of the daily revenue

· Assist in managing and maintaining accounting ledgers and reporting systems ensuring accuracy and full compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements

· Assist in managing and maintaining accounting policies, internal controls and safeguards of assets

· Assist in managing monthly, quarterly and annual close, communicating and maintaining adhering to deadlines

· Directs and prepares filings for government regulatory agencies which includes but not limited to payroll and sales and use filings

· Assist in maintaining property fixed assets details in SAGE software and reconciling cost and depreciation to the general ledger

· Assist staff and other departments with accounting questions and issues

· Perform other various tasks as needed
