Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time teaching opportunity is available for an educator specialized in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within a K-12 school setting. This contract position spans a full semester, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development in Peyton, CO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students across grades K-12
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with student goals and state standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, audiologists, and general education teachers
- Utilize assistive technologies and munication strategies such as sign language to enhance learning experiences
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development and foster strong munication channels
- Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices in deaf education
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with K-12 students in a similar role
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other relevant munication modalities
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
