Our client is searching for Paraprofessionals in the, Quakertown, NJ area for roles within a special education setting.
QUALIFICATIONS
* High School diploma; college level coursework in education or related field preferred.
* Ability to communicate effectively with students and school staff.
* Minimum 1 year of experience with special needs student.
* Ability to satisfactorily complete and pass given background checks.
* Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying, reaching, squatting/kneeling as appropriate to meet the physical demands of the educational setting.
CLIENT'S AVAILABLE HOURS
8:15am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Compensation
$20-$22 per hour
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
* Ensure student remains on task academically.
* Assists in taking care of the physical needs of the special education pupil, including putting on and taking off outer wear, moving from room to room and using the lavatory.
* Assists with individualized instruction and works with small groups of student and/or individual student under the supervision of the classroom teacher to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.
* Assist student(s) with transitioning from class to class during the school day.
* Perform other professional duties, as requested by the classroom teacher.
