Salary: $65,000.00 to $70,000.00

Your Role as a Therapist

  • Deliver Therapeutic Support - Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions tailored to needs assessments. Provide targeted interventions to support student growth and well-being.
  • Support Educational Teams - Collaborate with designated classroom students, teachers, and staff to implement strategies that promote progress and improvement. Work closely with district staff to ensure effective case management.
  • Provide Social Skills Instruction - Plan and deliver engaging programs designed to strengthen social skills and foster positive peer interactions.
  • Offer Behavioral Guidance - Share expertise in behavior change principles with classroom staff to promote effective strategies and supportive learning environments.
  • Ensure Data & Compliance - Assist in collecting quality indicator data and provide detailed reporting to track student progress and program outcomes.
  • Provide Crisis Intervention - Deliver crisis support when needed, ensuring student safety and stabilization during challenging situations.
  • Engage with Families - Help students and their families gain insights that lead to positive transformations, offering consistent communication and support.
  • Consult with Staff - Participate in regular meetings with district staff, offering consultation and contributing to collaborative approaches for student success.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Active New Jersey Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certificate.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development and implementation.
  • Sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds and needs of students and families.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in counseling and education.
