Reports to: Director of Accounting Work Hours: Monday-Friday
& Corporate Controller Exemption Status: Exempt
Job Type: Regular Full-Time Effective Date: 7/14/2025
Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 Base Salary
Profit Sharing: Company Profit Sharing is available

Role Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing accounting functions and providing support to ensure accurate financial reporting; assists with monthly financial closings and reporting, account reconciliations, and the preparation of financial statements, including monthly journal entry preparation, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet account reconciliations; assists with bank draw for active jobs, audits, resolving discrepancies, and reporting: ad hoc duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Accounting & Corporate Controller.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None (but expected to mentor Staff Accountant(s)
Essential Functions:
• Manages the monthly close process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely
• Enters financial data such as accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and interdepartmental entries into the ledger monthly
• Performs reconciliations of accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Maintains accurate records, including ledgers, journals, spreadsheets, etc.
• Analyzes financial data to provide insights and recommendations for process improvements
• Ensures compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Ensures compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures
• Assists with preparation for annual audits
• Provides mentorship and guidance to Staff Accountant(s)
• Performs administrative and other tasks as needed
• Communicates with employees at all levels of the organization
Minimum Required Education/Credentials/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
· At least 4 to 5 years’ experience of accounting experience
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting
· Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
· Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and in a team setting
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
· Interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization
Preferred Education/Credentials/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· CPA or equivalent certification is preferred
· Preferred accounting experience in a senior or lead role
· Familiarity with Mark Systems, a home builder software, is a plus
· Preference given to candidates with Construction and/or experience in the homebuilding industry
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
