Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a NM or compact RN license and advanced fetal monitoring certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Position is in a Family Birthing Center within a hospital setting
- Care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients, including high-risk maternal and neonatal cases
- Shifts are 12-hour nights with 3 shifts per week
- Role requires floating to departments or local locations within a 20-mile radius
- LDRP model and coverage include 2 call shifts (16 hours of call every 4 weeks)
- EPIC EMR is used, and on-site training is available
- Responsibilities include assessment and care of patients in all perinatal phases, administration of medications, preparation for and assistance with deliveries, neonatal stabilization, and care of postpartum and newborn patients including therapeutic interventions
- Care for newborns includes hearing screening, assist with lab draws, IV starts, medication administration, and stabilization of critically ill or opiate withdrawal newborns
- Must be prepared to stabilize patients for delivery or transfer in critical situations
- Testing on Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia required during initial orientation; unable to continue assignment if not passed following two attempts
- Team environment with multidisciplinary collaboration and the expectation to float as needed

- Active NM or compact RN license
- Completion of an accredited nursing program (ADN or ASN)
- Minimum of two years of current Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Current BLS certification from AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
- Current NRP certification
- AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced fetal monitoring certification
- Must pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) testing during first week
- Not eligible if residing within 50 miles of the facility
- Former permanent staff must have at least one-year separation before returning as a traveler
