Job Summary: The Behavior Technician (BT) provides direct behavior analytic services to clients of ABA of Wisconsin. The BT is primarily responsible for the consistent implementation of behavior analytic services as defined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) RBT Task List (including but not limited to Measurement, Assessment, Skill Acquisition, Behavior Reduction, Documentation and Reporting, and Professional Conduct and Scope of Practice) and interventions outlined by the BCBA in client treatment plans. In support of ABA of Wisconsin’s mission and vision, the BT works closely with the BCBA and other staff to provide the highest quality client services attainable by the organization using obtainable resources.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

● None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

● Behavior Analytic Services

Directly implements skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans written by a supervising BCBA maintaining productivity at least 90% direct services with clients. ○ Meets regularly with the supervising BCBA for training on client program changes, further training and for ongoing supervision.

○ Adjusts interventions and/or intervention methods as instructed by the supervising BCBA when necessary.

○ Is responsible for maintaining thorough knowledge and understanding of each intervention in place for each client on his/her caseload at all times.

○ Regularly reviews treatment plans for each client to ensure familiarity with service needs, interventions, and goals.

● Data Collection, Documentation, and Communication

Collects accurate and timely data for all behavior programs using Central Reach or other data collection tools; provides data to the BCBA for analysis.

○ Generates objective session notes for every session detailing client response to intervention and other relevant events that occurred.

○ Communicates with supervising BCBAs on a regular basis (includes but not limited to treatment concerns, critical incidents, scheduling issues, variables affecting client progress, etc.).

○ Provides a summary of session results to parents/guardians and/or client at the end of each client session.

● Other Duties
○ Works collaboratively with other company staff. Develops and maintains strong working relationships with other staff as needed for effective operations.
○ Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
● 18 years of age.
● Ability to take positive and constructive feedback on performance of duties in a way that is productive for ABA of Wisconsin, the agency, and the client(s).
● Excellent customer service skills.
● Demonstrated problem-solving ability under challenging conditions (e.g., ability to manage physical aggression and other challenging behaviors demonstrated by clients).
● Well organized and meticulous. Ability to follow written protocol and accurately collect data.
● Excellent written and oral communication skills.
● Excellent interpersonal relationship-building skills with employees, supervisors, clients, and other agencies to maintain effective working teams and relationships.
● Excellent critical thinking and decision-making ability.
● Demonstrated user skills with MS Suite or Google Suite; ability to learn and master other software and user devices.
● Ability to travel within assigned Wisconsin regions; must have reliable transportation.
● Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and proof of personal auto insurance meeting Wisconsin minimum requirements.
● Successful completion of all required background checks.

Education and Experience:
● High School diploma or national equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or relevant field of study preferred.
● 1-2 years of experience collaborating with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.
● Experience with principles and application of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred.
● Ability to complete the RBT 40-hour training program and pass the RBT Competency Assessment according to BACB guidelines (training provided by ABA of Wisconsin).

Physical Requirements:
● Prolonged periods standing and walking.
● Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds at a time.
● Must be physically, mentally, and emotionally able to provide responsible care for all children, including children with disabilities.
● Must be able to kneel, sit, stand, crawl, lower, bend, crouch, lunge, push, and pull to assist and instruct children throughout the day.
● Repetitive movements of the knee, back, wrist, and hands; grasping securely with the hands.
