Position Summary
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for our company. This position plays a critical role in the daily and monthly financial operations, ensuring compliance and providing accurate financial data to management and accountants. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient with accounting software and general bookkeeping principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Transaction Recording: Accurately record all daily financial transactions, including income, expenses, and purchases, into the accounting system (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
- General Ledger Maintenance: Update and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are properly classified and balanced.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform regular, timely reconciliation of bank and credit card statements with the company's records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor invoices, manage vendor relations, and ensure timely payment of all company bills.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Prepare and send invoices to clients, track outstanding balances, and manage collections.
- Financial Reporting: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for internal review.

- Compliance: Assist with year-end closing procedures and collaborate with external accountants or auditors to ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations.

Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
- Experience: 3 -5 years of professional bookkeeping experience.
- Software Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP).
- Core Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Integrity: High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of financial data.
Preferred:
- Bookkeeper certification (e.g., Certified Public Bookkeeper - CPB).
