Salary: $23.00-$30.00/HR + BONUS!
Hire-On Bonus: $3,000 total, paid in increments of $500 per month after hire!
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:00pm, possible OT on Friday
Pay: $23.00-$30.00/HR
Duties:
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
- Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs to complete electrical circuits
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt parts into required configurations
- Detect faulty equipment operation or defective materials and report to supervisors
- Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment (GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, plasma arc, SMAW, resistance, submerged arc)
- Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, shrinking, or distortion
- Examine workpieces for defects and measure with straightedges, templates, or calipers to ensure specifications are met
- Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade
- Lay out, align, and secure parts and assemblies using precision measuring tools
- Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter using scrapers, grinders, or arc-cutting equipment
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, and work orders to plan welding operations
- Adjust regulator valves to control gas flow and pressure for desired flames
- Weld aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys
- Determine required equipment and welding methods using knowledge of metallurgy and geometry
- Mark or tag materials with job numbers and piece marks
- Prepare material surfaces by removing scale, rust, grease, or other contaminants
- Select and install torches, tips, filler rods, and flux per welding chart specifications
- Position and secure workpieces using hoists, cranes, wire, or banding machines
- Clean or degrease parts using brushes, grinders, or chemical baths
- Repair products by dismantling, reshaping, and reassembling parts with cutting torches and presses
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of welding experience preferred (open to candidates with less if highly skilled)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, production layouts, specifications, technical drawings, and work orders
- Proficiency in multiple welding processes (GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of metallurgy, welding techniques, and safety practices
- Skilled in using measuring tools (straightedges, squares, calipers, rulers)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal training or supervision
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds
- Strong problem-solving skills for detecting and correcting defects
- Familiarity with hoists, cranes, grinders, and other welding-related equipment
