Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Cath Lab (IR/Cath)

Profession: Registered Nurse
Specialty: Cath Lab / Interventional Radiology
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days – 4x10 Hours (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Schedule: Monday – Friday
On-Call: Required (8–10 call shifts per month, including 1 full weekend)

Location: Rochester, NY

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN with strong Interventional Radiology (IR) experience. Candidates must have hands-on Cath Lab experience (IR-only experience will not be considered). This role supports both cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology procedures in a high-acuity procedural setting.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience

  • Experience in both Cath Lab and IR Lab required

  • First-time travelers accepted

Required Certifications

  • BLS

  • ACLS

Core Clinical SkillsCardiac Cath Lab Experience

  • Diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations (adult)

  • Left and right heart catheterization

  • Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)

  • Cardiac stent placement

  • IABP placement/removal

  • Impella insertion

  • Pacemaker/Defibrillator lead extraction

  • Pulmonary artery (Swan-Ganz) monitoring

  • Angioplasty

  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

  • 12-lead EKG

Interventional Radiology Procedures

  • Central venous access (non-tunneled, PICC, ports)

  • Dialysis graft creation/revision and interventions

  • Endovascular interventions and stent graft placement

  • Upper & lower extremity angiography

  • Renal angiography and renal artery stenting

  • Uterine artery embolization

  • Pulmonary angiography and embolization

  • Percutaneous hepatic angiography

  • Embolization procedures

  • Nephrostomy

  • Chest tube placement

  • Lung biopsy

  • Liver biopsy

  • Paracentesis

  • Gastrostomy tube placement

Medication & Monitoring

  • Antiarrhythmics and antihypertensives

  • Emergency medication administration

  • Procedural sedation administration and monitoring

  • IV infusion pumps

  • Implanted port care and maintenance

  • Infection prevention and isolation precautions
