Job Title: Shipper and Receiver
Job Description
This role supports the inventory department by overseeing the full shipping and receiving process in a busy production shop. You will load and unload materials as trucks arrive and depart, coordinate with delivery drivers to keep shipments on schedule, interact with customers on a daily basis, and accurately enter inventory data into the ERP system. The facility manufactures pumps, and candidates with assembly experience may have the opportunity to work across different departments.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials from trucks as shipments arrive and depart.
- Coordinate with delivery drivers to confirm schedules, delivery details, and shipment status.
- Support the shipping and receiving process by preparing, checking, and organizing incoming and outgoing materials.
- Handle daily interactions with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Accurately enter and update inventory information in the ERP system.
- Monitor inventory levels and help ensure materials are correctly labeled, stored, and accounted for.
- Collaborate with production and inventory teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Follow established warehouse procedures to maintain an efficient and safe workflow.
- Assist with assembly tasks in the production shop when required, particularly in pump manufacturing.
- Contribute to a clean, organized warehouse environment by keeping work areas tidy and materials properly arranged.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes.
- Practical experience working with inventory in a warehouse or production environment.
- Ability to safely and efficiently load and unload materials from trucks.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems, such as SAP, for inventory data entry and tracking.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Basic understanding of assembly work in a production or manufacturing setting.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory documentation and system updates.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Experience in pump or similar mechanical assembly is an asset.
- Comfort using computer systems and learning new software tools.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple shipments and tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality to support consistent operations during scheduled hours.

Work Environment

The setting is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring attention to safety, organization, and clear communication with drivers, customers, and team members.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX 77032.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
