Glastender, Inc., a family-owned manufacturer of stainless steel bar and restaurant equipment, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to join our leadership team. As Manufacturing Manager, you will plan, direct, and coordinate resources through your Production Supervisors to ensure safe, efficient, and timely production of high-quality stainless steel bar equipment-at the most economical cost and in just-in-time quantities. You will help lead a highly skilled, motivated, and accountable workforce, while upholding our strong culture of safety, employee engagement, and operational excellence.
You will join a company with well-established manufacturing metrics, a 99% on-time delivery rate, and processes rooted in lean manufacturing. Our open book management style engages employees at every level, fostering shared ownership of results. Onboarding for this position will be well-planned and supported by our Vice President of Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily manufacturing operations in sheet metal and assembly, ensuring quality, quantity, and delivery goals are met.
- Promote and enforce safety standards, creating a culture of accountability.
- Use KPIs and data to drive production performance and cost control.
- Facilitate daily and bi-weekly team meetings to align priorities and address challenges.
- Engage employees in problem-solving, process improvement, and financial literacy.
- Coach and develop team members through regular feedback, performance reviews, and training initiatives.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure seamless operational flow and process alignment.
- Champion lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing Management, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of manufacturing supervisory experience, including in a fabrication/assembly setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven leadership in a production environment, preferably with sheet metal fabrication and assembly.
- Working knowledge of welding (TIG/MIG) and its integration into workflows.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, JIT, and continuous improvement.
- Strong skills in ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and reading technical drawings.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and time management skills.
