Facilities & Delivery Assistant

Responsibilities
- Assist loading and unloading machine tools weighing up to 25,000 lbs using a 3,000 – 35,000 lb forklift. Unwrap machine, tear down crates and skids, and dispose of materials.
- Assist with moving machines as requested.
- Change and add coolant as needed to the showroom machines.
- Clean and prep machines for shipment; clean metal chips and coolant, wipe down and wrap machine.
- Maintain professional appearance of showrooms at all times; clean floor, clean glass, wipe door handles, cabinets, chair rails, etc., ensure trash is emptied, clean walls, fix cracks/paint chips and scuffs.
- Assist with exterior building maintenance; maintain sidewalks, snow plowing in winter, maintain pallet storage, make minor repairs as necessary, etc.
- Assist with interior building maintenance; operate floor scrubber, make minor building repairs, etc.
- Assist with deliveries and pick-ups as requested.
- Participate in safety committee.
- Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as required by the position.
Requirements
- Forklift experience preferred. Machine rigging experience helpful, but not necessary.
- Basic building maintenance knowledge.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record & must complete a DOT physical (ability to safely operate a 26,000 lb commercial vehicle).
- Ability to interact professionally and tactfully with internal and external customers.
- Self-directed. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer knowledge.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly required to; stand, walk, reach above shoulders, use foot/feet to operate equipment; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Ability to tolerate heights while on a ladder and/or aerial lift.
- Ability to tolerate outdoor weather conditions while loading/unloading machines.
