Location: Santa Clara, California

Crystal Instruments designs and manufactures vibration control and data acquisition systems. We are looking for a hands-on Electronics Technician to support production, troubleshooting, calibration, repair, and shipment of electronic hardware. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with circuit boards, instruments, and finished systems in a lab and production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and solder electronic boards and hardware systems, including surface-mount (SMT) components
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronics at the board and system level
  • Test, inspect, and calibrate systems prior to shipment to ensure quality and performance
  • Package and prepare units for customer shipment
  • Maintain and update BOMs (Bills of Materials) and production records
  • Manage software license keys and configuration before shipping
  • Work with vendors for parts, cables, and assemblies
  • Track inventory, parts usage, and production status
  • Help improve production processes and documentation

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on electronics experience, including surface-mount (SMT) soldering and PCB rework
  • Experience with fine-pitch SMT soldering and PCB rework
  • Comfortable using oscilloscopes and understanding their limitations
  • Ability to disassemble and reassemble electronic systems
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Familiarity with calibration, verification, or production test processes
  • Good documentation habits using tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills

Education:

  • Associate’s degree, technical certificate, or equivalent hands-on experience in electronics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is acceptable but not required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $70k–$90k base salary (depending on experience)
