About the Role
We are currently seeking a Project Manager – Small Projects to oversee high-end residential projects with budgets ranging from $30,000 to $1 million. In this role, you will manage every phase of project delivery—from permitting and scheduling to construction and closeout—often overseeing multiple small projects at a time. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for clients, trades, and internal teams, playing a hands-on role in ensuring each project's success with a focus on quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
This role is ideal for a self-driven project manager who excels in communication, has a strong attention to detail, and is capable of troubleshooting challenges as they arise—maintaining a proactive and solution-oriented mindset while balancing competing priorities across multiple jobs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of assigned small projects according to plans, specifications, and client expectations
- Review project designs and site conditions to ensure proper execution of building systems and high-quality construction
- Coordinate permitting process and interface with local building departments as needed
- Lead weekly meetings with clients and architects; communicate clearly and consistently throughout the project
- Develop estimates, schedules, and scopes of work; track progress and make adjustments to maintain timeline and budget
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and staff
- Procure materials, solicit subcontractor bids, and coordinate tasks with site superintendent or foreman (if assigned)
- Manage and direct field crew and subcontractors on-site as needed
- Create simple shop drawings or sketches to support product procurement and vendor coordination
- Monitor budgets and provide updates to clients; draft and process change orders for approval
- Manage billing cycles and assist with collection efforts as needed
- Maintain comprehensive project records and documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, insurance certificates, and closeout documents
- Complete regular progress reporting and participate in internal reviews with management
- Provide occasional project support to senior project managers as required
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project management, ideally in high-end residential
- College degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Solid understanding of residential construction methods and materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, Dropbox, Bluebeam, Google Workspace, PlanGrid, and MS Project
- Field construction experience is a plus

Location
Our office is based in Palo Alto, California. This position requires regular travel between our office and job sites throughout the Peninsula and San Francisco.
