About the Role
The Mental Health Professional (Clinician I or II) provides direct, recovery-focused therapeutic and case management services to adults and older adults with behavioral health conditions. This role supports individuals in achieving stability and independence within community-based settings, including adult family homes and skilled nursing facilities.
Services include psychotherapy (Clinician II), case management, treatment planning, and care coordination. This position emphasizes outreach, crisis response, and working with individuals who have complex behavioral health and long-term care needs. Clinician II may also provide more advanced clinical interventions and support to interns as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload and provide ongoing clinical and supportive services.
- Conduct client assessments in accordance with DSM and agency standards.
- Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans and goals.
- Assess risk and implement appropriate safety planning.
- Provide behavioral health counseling, psychotherapy (Clinician II), case management, and group services.
- Utilize Evidence-Based Practices whenever possible.
- Monitor compliance with court orders and complete required documentation.
- Collaborate with psychiatric providers, emergency services, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Coordinate services with community agencies and natural supports.
- Provide outreach to client homes, facilities, hospitals, and community settings.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and provide crisis response support.
- Ensure accurate documentation, billing, and compliance with agency standards.
- Participate in supervision, meetings, and required trainings.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and ethical standards.
Program-Specific Responsibilities
- Coordinate with DSHS regarding Expanded Community Services (ECS) requirements.
- Provide services in adult family homes and skilled nursing facilities.
- Deliver high-intensity services to individuals with severe and persistent behavioral health conditions and complex needs.
- Provide outreach to hospitals, jails, emergency rooms, and community settings.
- Participate in after-hours crisis intervention and outreach.
What You BringEducation / Experience / Certifications
- Clinician I: BA/BS/BSW in a Behavioral Science related field.
- Clinician II: MA/MS/MSW in a Behavioral Science related field.
- MHP qualification preferred.
- Experience working with adults with complex behavioral health and long-term care needs preferred.
- Knowledge of or experience with Evidence-Based Practices.
- Agency Affiliated Counselor application required if not licensed (DOH).
- Washington State Approved Supervisor Training required prior to providing supervision (Clinician II, if applicable).
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License and insurance (if applicable).

- General computer proficiency (EHR systems, Microsoft Office).
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check (including DSHS if applicable).

This position is primarily community-based, requiring outreach to client homes, hospitals, medical facilities, jails, and other community settings.
The role requires occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds) and regular sitting, standing, walking, and close vision tasks. The work environment is typically moderate in noise level.
