Speech Therapist:
Ditmas Children's is seeking aSpeech Therapist to join our team in providing specialized care for children with medical and developmental needs. The ideal candidate will assess and treat speech, language, and feeding difficulties while collaborating with families and healthcare providers to support each child’s progress.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess children's speech and feeding needs.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to improve communication and swallowing abilities.
- Work with children who have complex medical conditions, ensuring safe and effective feeding strategies.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to provide education and support for at-home strategies.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians and occupational therapists
- Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document all interventions.
- Provide specialized feeding therapy for children with ventilators, tracheostomies, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), and nasogastric (NG) tubes.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with pediatric experience.
- Expertise in feeding therapy, swallowing disorders, and communication challenges.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with families and healthcare providers.
