The Library Technical Assistant II supports public service to theater, dance, music & recorded sound, and the reserve film media collections of the research divisions of the Library for the Performing Arts. They provide access to paper-based materials (books, archival boxes, etc), microfilm, audio and moving image materials. In addition, as part of the Access Services group, they are responsible for projects around accessing material as needed.
Responsibilities: Under the general supervision of the Assistant Manager, Research Access Services, the Library Technical Assistant II:
- Provides public service support, including assisting patrons with research materials and special collections
- Fulfills reader requests and maintain inventory control of research and media materials, including retrieval, delivery, reshelving, and circulation using the ILS and inventory systems.
- Assists in planning and implementing collection maintenance projects
- Instruct patrons on the use of the internet, computer applications and other Library services
- Fulfills electronic document delivery requests
- Ensures patron compliance with library policies and procedures
- Operates the playback console, playback devices, and supporting equipment
- Collaborates across departments and participate in cross-training as needed
- Performs other related duties as required
Required Education, Experience & SkillsRequired Education and Certifications
- High School Diploma
Required Experience
- Experience working with the public in high-pressure environments
