Job DescriptionMed Surg ICU - Registered Nurse - Night Shifts Overview:
The role involves delivering patient care in a medical-surgical intensive care unit during nighttime hours. This position requires the application of the nursing process and collaboration with various departments. Candidates must hold a valid RN license, Basic Life Support certification, and may need additional specialized certifications based on the specific unit. The job necessitates physical stamina for extended periods of standing and lifting, while ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.

This role utilizes the nursing process to ensure effective patient care. The nurse is accountable for the care provided to assigned patients and assesses the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other caregivers. Coordination of patient care with other departments is essential. The nurse must uphold patient rights and maintain confidentiality regarding patient information. Responsibilities should be executed in alignment with our mission, values, and service standards.

Qualifications:
Education: Completion of a nursing program (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
Licensure: It is the nurse's responsibility to secure and maintain a current RN license in the state of employment or through compact licensure, fulfilling all state board of nursing requirements.
Experience:
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or successful completion of the course within 30 days of hire.
- Depending on the unit, one or more of the following certifications may be required or must be obtained within a specified timeframe:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
- Other unit-specific certifications as necessary.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to regularly push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
• Prolonged standing and walking are required throughout each shift.
• Capability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to fulfill job responsibilities.
