Shift Options:
- Days with rotating weekends
- Mixed shifts with rotating weekends
Shift Length: 10-hour or 12-hour shifts
Typical Start Time: 6:30 AM (until case completion)
On-Call: Required based on departmental schedule
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Pay Range: $28.00 – $38.00 (based on experience)
Sign-On Bonus: $15,000
Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis
Shift Differentials:
- 2nd Shift: +$3.15/hour
- 3rd Shift: +$4.00/hour
- On-Call Pay: $5.00/hour
Position Overview
A leading acute care hospital in Savannah, GA is seeking an experienced Certified CVOR Surgical Technologist (CST) to join its Cardiovascular Operating Room team. This role supports a highly specialized cardiac and thoracic surgery program within a fast-paced surgical environment.
The CVOR department operates two dedicated Heart OR suites and performs approximately 1,000 cardiovascular and thoracic procedures annually, with continued program growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up operating rooms, instruments, and surgical supplies for cardiovascular and thoracic procedures
- Assist surgeons during cardiac and thoracic surgeries in a scrub role
- Ensure proper sterile technique and maintain a safe surgical environment
- Support patient positioning, transport, and OR equipment setup
- Perform surgical counts in collaboration with circulating nursing staff
- Clean, process, and prepare surgical instruments for sterilization
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient case flow
- Participate in ongoing training, education, and professional development
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
- Minimum 1–2 years of CVOR experience required
- Prior Operating Room experience required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross) required
- Ability to obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of hire
