LICENSED OPTICIAN JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for an Optician to help our patient pick out and adjust their new eyeglasses. For many of our patients, this choice comes down to fashion, so you should have a combination of product knowledge and experience working with different face shapes. Our ideal applicant has an associate degree and at least some familiarity with the basics of ophthalmology and optometry. You should also be comfortable working with other optical devices, such as contacts and prescription sunglasses.
LICENSED OPTICIAN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Interpret and fill prescriptions from an optometrist
* Help patients pick out a suitable frame
* Adjust frames to fit the patient's head
* Explain contact use and care
*Readjust existing frames and patients
LICENSED OPTICIAN REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* High school diploma or GED certificate
* Associate degree in opticianry
* Optician's license
* Strong customer service skills
