Biology Scientist (Contract/Temp)
Zing Recruiting, in partnership with an chemical manufacturer located in the Rockleigh, NJ area is on the search for an experienced Biology Scientist to join their team on a contract/temp basis.
Location: Rockleigh, NJ
Hours: 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Fully onsite.
Pay: $28-33/hr, based on experience
Assignment duration: Ongoing contract with potential to go perm on the basis of performance
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for planning and performing experiments as well as method development in the study and understanding of flavors and fragrances using the tools available in biological research.
- They include collecting and analyzing data, preparing buffers, media, household product formulations, performing experiments using microorganisms and enzymes, and general support for the biology research group.
- Other responsibilities will include preparing project reports, scientific presentations and interacting with other areas of research (analytical, chemistry, psychophysics, neuroscience).
- Duties will also include full laboratory support for our commercial, creative and marketing objectives.
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Bachelor’s +5 years or master’s +2 years lab experience (preferably in the biological sciences).
- At least 2+ years hands-on laboratory experience preferably in microbiology, biochemistry, psychophysics, or cosmetic or food science
- Must be computer literate and working in either the fragrance or flavor labs is extremely helpful.
