We're seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and motivated Accounts Payable Assistant to support our Accounting Department at the Home Office in Charleston, SC.

You’ll support day-to-day financial operations for multiple restaurants and hotels while learning from a team of experienced professionals. As the Accounts Payable Assistant, you’ll work closely with the Controller and accounting team to ensure timely and accurate processing of financial tasks. You’ll support invoice approvals, data entry, vendor reconciliations, and general administrative functions to help keep the back office running smoothly.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist AP and Accountants with data entry, restaurant invoice approvals, credit applications, reconciling and monitoring alcohol vendor invoicing.
  • Assist with pulling data for insurance files and audits.
  • Miscellaneous tasks that may include scanning, copying, storing accounting related documents, and ordering new checks when needed.
  • Monitor weekly payables/check runs.
  • Complete monthly expense reports.
  • Complete intercompany transaction entries.
  • Prepare weekly payments.
  • Assist the accounting department employees as needed or any other assigned duty deemed necessary by supervisor.

Requirements:

Requirements for Success:

  • Experience with Fintech and QuickBooks a bonus but not required.
  • College degree
  • Understanding of accounting
  • Strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and think logically in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with personnel and customers at all discipline levels, both written and verbal
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Able to work as a team player in a deadline driven environment with accuracy and organization.
  • Must have clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must always have professional presentation skills and demeanor.
