Job Description

Quality Manager

Location: Connecticut

This is a leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong quality systems, coaching technical teams, and ensuring precision manufacturing stays on track and audit-ready. The Quality Manager will guide all plant-wide quality initiatives, from AS9100 compliance to inspection strategy, and will serve as the primary voice for how quality shapes performance, customer satisfaction, and long-term operational success.

Role Overview

You’ll oversee the full quality function—quality assurance, inspection, calibration practices, system audits, and continuous improvement tied to AS9100 and ISO standards. This role isn’t limited to oversight. It requires someone who can think strategically about quality processes while staying close enough to the floor to recognize gaps, strengthen controls, and mentor teams through technical and procedural challenges.

A key part of the job is keeping the site’s Quality Management System healthy and accurate. You’ll own compliance activities, monitor the metrics that reflect system performance, organize audit readiness, and ensure documentation is aligned with both customer requirements and internal standards. You’ll also be responsible for shaping how the plant executes metrology and inspection work, establishing CMM expectations, inspection plans, and guidelines that support repeatable, reliable outcomes.

This leader will serve as a resource for GD&T interpretation, SPC implementation, and problem-solving across manufacturing. You’ll work closely with the inspection team to assess capability, identify training priorities, and ensure employees throughout the plant understand how quality shapes daily performance.

What You’ll Lead

  • Oversee the quality and inspection organizations, ensuring processes meet customer requirements and internal throughput goals.
  • Maintain and advance the AS9100-certified Quality Management System, including audit preparation and continuous improvement activities.
  • Create and standardize inspection approaches, including CMM practices, part-specific inspection plans, and measurement guidelines.
  • Offer technical support on GD&T and SPC, helping engineering and manufacturing teams interpret data, resolve issues, and strengthen controls.
  • Monitor quality performance indicators and use them to identify training needs, process risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Partner across functions to support customer satisfaction goals, on-time delivery, and alignment with overall business objectives.

What You Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline—or equivalent experience in quality leadership.
  • Hands-on background as a quality inspector (5+ years) with at least one year in a supervisory or management role.
  • Solid understanding of GD&T and familiarity with SPC/Six Sigma tools; green belt or black belt experience is a plus.
  • Experience working within AS9100 or ISO9001 environments and a strong command of inspection methodologies used in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with CMM equipment—PC-DMIS exposure is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to influence others and guide teams through ambiguity and problem-solving.

Why This Role Matters

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, technical environment and enjoys developing people and systems. The organization offers competitive compensation, strong opportunities for growth, and day-one medical coverage along with dental, disability, voluntary life insurance, and a 401(k) program with company match.
