Ruekert & Mielke is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The deal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with legal requirement, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. This role requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and proficiency in accounting software.
Goals & Responsibilities
This position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:
Accounting Support:
- Provide support and assistance to the accounts payable process, as needed.
- Provide support and assistance with the billing process, as needed.
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Assist with month end close process, including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports to help management assess financial performance.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Assist with external audits, reviews and tax return
Project Reporting:
- Support project managers by ensuring that project financials are accurately tracked and reported.
- Assist with setup and maintenance of project data in accounting software.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement:
- Evaluate and suggest improvements to internal accounting procedures and controls to streamline processes and reduce inefficiencies.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with internal policies to prevent financial discrepancies.
Ad-Hoc Projects & Strategic Initiatives:
- Lead or support ad-hoc projects, such as financial modeling, system upgrades, or process redesigns.
- Participate in special accounting projects such as business acquisitions or system integrations.
Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following education, experience, and abilities:
Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Associates degree with relevant experience will also be considered. Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance
- Understanding of accounting practices related to project costing and billing.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, financial modeling, and complex formulas.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex financial data and ensure accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- A self-starter who thrives in an environment that is dynamic and requires flexibility.
- Someone who enjoys a varied workload, including occasional high-pressure tasks and non-repetitive duties.
- A collaborative team player who can also take initiative and handle tasks independently.
