Position Summary:

Veterinary Technicians assist veterinarians with both medical and administrative tasks to ensure quality patient care. Client Service Representatives handle client interactions, schedule appointments, and manage client and patient records.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Client Service & Communication
  • · Provide excellent customer service by going above and beyond to meet client needs while adhering to department protocols.
  • · Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner.
  • · Answer incoming calls, return voicemails, and manage client flow from check-in to discharge.
  • · Relay information between clients, doctors, staff, and management.
  • · Educate clients about SVE products and services (e.g., supplements, vaccines, treatments, foaling, breeding, dentistry, chiropractic, etc.).
  • · Schedule appointments and monitor schedule flow.
  • · Process payment transactions and prepare invoices.
  • · Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic and written medical records.
  • · Prepare discharge instructions and prescriptions as per doctor’s notes.
  • · Complete regulatory paperwork as trained.
  • · Process in-house OTC prescriptions and supplement orders.
  • · Process and mail laboratory samples.
  • Medical & Technical Assistance
  • · Assist veterinarians with procedures and treatments as needed.
  • · Daily patient care, including administration of oral (PO), intravenous (IV), and intramuscular (IM) medications.
  • · Take dictation from veterinarians and enter it into the electronic medical record.
  • · Accurately obtain, process, and store in-house and external laboratory samples.
  • · Use in-house laboratory equipment efficiently and accurately.
  • · Stock veterinary trucks, hospital, and exam areas with necessary supplies and medications.
  • · Ensure proper care and maintenance of instruments and equipment.
  • · Assist with handling horses.
  • · Trot and jog horses during lameness exams.
  • Professional Conduct & Schedule Requirements
  • · Maintain a professional physical appearance and attitude.
  • · Adhere to a mandatory rotating schedule, including weekends and observed holidays.
  • · Participate in on-call duties, up to one weeknight (Mon–Fri), in addition to weekend and holiday rotations.
  • · Assist in keeping the office and clinic clean and presentable during office hours.
