KeystoneCare is looking for a dedicated Prep Cook / Dishwasher to join our kitchen team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly by preparing ingredients and maintaining cleanliness. You will work closely with our culinary staff to deliver high-quality meals to our patients and residents, adhering to the highest standards of food safety and sanitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of food items according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Peel, chop, and prepare vegetables, meats, and other ingredients for cooking.
  • Responsible for washing, drying, and sanitizing all dishes, cookware, and kitchen utensils.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Help with plating and serving meals, as needed.
  • Monitor food inventory and assist in stock management.
  • Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Assist in cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or chef.

Requirements

To be successful in the role of Prep Cook / Dishwasher, candidates should have the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in food preparation or dishwashing in a restaurant or healthcare setting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination or an approved Medical or Religious exemption.
  • Proof of Influenza (Flu) Vaccination or an approved Medical or Religious exemption.

Physical requirements include:

  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged standing and walking on tiled surfaces.
  • Safe operation of kitchen equipment.
  • Exposure to heat, noise, and kitchen chemicals.
  • Ability to work in a team and follow safety protocols.
