Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the Project Manager and project executive team on a large commercial construction site. The APM will assist with all aspects of construction management, including project coordination, subcontractor support, documentation control, and daily field oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager with daily project operations and site coordination
  • Help manage and update construction schedules, bid leveling sheets, and procurement logs
  • Support all communication with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants
  • Perform material tracking, delivery confirmations, and follow-ups on outstanding orders
  • Help monitor jobsite quality control and ensure adherence to Nexgen standards
  • Maintain and file daily job logs, photos, inspection reports, and RFIs
  • Schedule and participate in project meetings, taking and distributing meeting minutes
  • Track open issues and follow up on action items across stakeholders
  • Ensure proper sequencing and inspections are completed by trades
  • Assist in managing permitting, approvals, and inspection logistics
  • Review subcontractor invoices and coordinate documentation for payment processing
  • Attend walkthroughs, inspections, and contribute to punch list documentation
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to prepare weekly reports and updates for internal teams

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in commercial construction or construction management
  • Working knowledge of construction plans, trade coordination, and site logistics
  • Experience with Procore or similar construction/project management software preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
