Heavy Machinery Operator (Crane / Excavator)
Location: Clayton County
Pay Range: $25–$35/hour (DOE; preference for crane operators at the top end)
Openings: 1-2
Position Summary
We are seeking killed Heavy Machinery Operators to support daily operations at high-volume scrap and demolition yards. The primary need is for Crane Operators (preferred), with additional openings for Excavator Operators. This role is critical in keeping material moving safely and efficiently, and requires both hands-on ability and strong safety awareness.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate cranes and/or excavators to move, load, and process scrap material.
- Support daily yard flow to ensure consistent shipping and receiving activity.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs.
- Coordinate with yard leadership and crews for efficient loading/unloading.
- Adhere to OSHA and PPE safety standards at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Qualifications
- 2+ years operating cranes or excavators in a scrap, construction, or industrial yard.
- Equipment certifications strongly preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Proven ability to follow safety protocols and operate in high-volume environments.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions.
- Reliable transportation to and from yard locations.
Compensation & Benefits
- $25–$35/hour, based on experience (crane operators prioritized at higher end).
