Job DescriptionJob Description:The Diagnostic Sonographer (Registered Ultrasound Technologist) is responsible for performing diagnostic grey and vascular procedures, as ordered by the referring physician, for the patients of all ages. The technologist demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to interact with patients in a way that is effective and appropriate to the age of the involved patient population. The Diagnostic Sonographer will work closely with the radiologist and other physicians to provide the best diagnostic information, while striving to provide the patient with the highest quality patient service following established and accepted techniques. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.Education Qualifications:

Education and/or years experience required:
•Graduate of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program) approved ultrasound program OR
•Graduate of an Allied Health Education and Accreditation (AMA) Radiography Program and a minimum of 12 months full-time clinical ultrasound/vascular experience OR
•BA with minimum of 12 months of full-time clinical ultrasound/vascular experience

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Licensure/Certifications required:
•Possess a current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate (ARDMS) of Registry, or be registry eligible.
•Certificate in Abdomen and OB/GYN by the ARDMS must be obtained within 24 months of hire.
•Certificate in Vascular (RVT) must be obtained within 24 months of hire.
•Certification in measurement of nuchal translucency and Nasal Bone of the fetus within 24 months of hire if working in clinic setting.
•Completion of the ARDMS MSK Certification within 24 months for those working in MSK
