Job DescriptionOverview

Our organization features three Cath Labs and one Electrophysiology Lab at the Leesburg Hospital. Responsibilities

The Cath Lab Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT), under the guidance of the director or charge person, is responsible for monitoring procedures, which include all diagnostic and interventional coronary and peripheral catheterization studies. This role ensures safe patient care and involves working as a scrub assistant. The shift schedule is as follows:

  • 7 AM to 7 PM, consisting of three 12-hour shifts, plus on-call duties (one night per week and one weekend per month, approximately every third or fourth weekend from Friday night close of business to Monday at 6 AM).
  • Must be able to report within 30 minutes when on call.

Qualifications

  • Education
    • Associate’s Degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or Respiratory Therapy.
    • Alternatively, a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience and:
      • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification (to be obtained within 12 months of hire) OR
      • Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (to be obtained within 12 months of hire).
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification (preferred).
    • If ARRT is not held, one of the following licenses or certifications is required:
      • Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist license OR
      • Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist license OR
      • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification OR
      • Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification.
    • Any of the four licenses/certifications mentioned above must be obtained within 12 months of hire if a degree in the relevant fields is not held.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • ACLS certification is required.
