Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist (Medical Instrument Technician)

  • Location: 3710 SW U.S. Veterans Hospital Road, Portland, OR 97239
  • Site: VA Portland Health Care System (Vancouver Campus)
  • Location: 1601 E. Fourth Plain Blvd, Vancouver, WA 98661

Duration: 1-year base contract with up to four (4) option years Shift Schedule: 8-, 9-, or 10-hour shifts (4–5 days/week), including rotating weekends and federal holidays. On-call, overtime, and callback coverage may be required as needed. How many shifts needed per month: Approximately full-time coverage (1.0 FTE = 2,080 hours/year per technologist) Credentialing / Onboarding time: 6 weeks to 8 weeks License: ARDMS Certifications:

  • ARDMS (Abdomen/Small Parts)
  • Additional certifications required (RVT, OB/GYN, MSK, etc.)
  • BCLS

Experience needed:

  • Minimum 3 years hospital ultrasound experience (US-based)
  • Must have worked as an Ultrasound Tech in the last 6 months
  • Vascular ultrasound experience required

Special Skills needed:

  • Abdomen, pelvic, scrotal, GYN, and small parts ultrasound
  • Doppler studies and U/S-guided biopsies
  • Independent decision-making and emergency scanning

Responsibilities:

  • Perform standard and complex ultrasound exams
  • Ensure image quality and PACS transmission
  • Coordinate scheduling and emergency cases
  • Maintain patient records and exam documentation
  • Communicate critical findings to radiologists
  • Participate in after-hours and on-call coverage

Misc:

  • Must commit to minimum 6 months
