A growing, mid-size regional CPA firm in the Atlanta market is seeking a Senior Tax Manager or Tax Director to join our leadership team. Position Overview
The Senior Tax Manager / Director will lead complex tax engagements, serve as a trusted advisor to closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals, and mentor a growing tax team. The role can be tailored based on experience and interest, with a clear path to expanded leadership and equity consideration for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review complex federal and multi-state tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, and high-net-worth individuals
- Serve as the primary tax advisor to a portfolio of clients, providing proactive planning and consulting
- Lead and mentor tax managers, seniors, and staff; contribute to talent development and retention
- Oversee engagement economics, workflow, and deadlines to ensure high-quality client service
- Participate in firm initiatives related to growth, process improvement, and practice development
- Assist with business development efforts and deepen existing client relationships
Qualifications
- CPA required (Master’s in Taxation a plus)
- 8+ years of public accounting tax experience, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role
- Strong technical background in pass-through entities and closely held businesses
- Experience with client-facing advisory and tax planning
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple engagements
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
