As a Lab Technician, you will play an integral role in processing and analyzing lab samples. Your responsibilities will include diluting samples for ICP, running visual checks, programming ICP computers, and running samples for FTIR. You will also be responsible for selecting the correct reference oil and establishing the computer transfer of data. Additionally, you will complete visual notes on coolant, fuel, and oil samples, assist in running daily verification samples, handle rush samples, and maintain lab equipment in good condition.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process samples.
- Walk to pick up samples from various parts of the facility.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory processes.
- Conduct quality control and assurance on samples.
- Perform analytical testing using wet chemistry techniques.
- Analyze data and record accurate lab notes.
- Communicate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
Essential Skills
- Experience in laboratory work, quality control, and wet chemistry.
- Proficiency in analytical testing of samples and sample preparation.
- Ability to follow SOPs and understand chemistry principles.
- Competence in using lab instruments like ICP, IR, and gas chromatography.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biology or related field.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment, such as serving or bartending.
- Excellent communication and team-oriented skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn.
Work Environment
Join a dynamic team of less than 10 individuals in an industrial laboratory setting. The work environment is casual with a dress code of jeans, t-shirts, and closed-toe shoes, though lab coats are provided. The team processes 1000 - 1100 samples per day, requiring constant communication and collaboration to meet client deadlines. The lab operates Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with a rotational shift for ICP stations from 8 am to 4:30 pm every five weeks.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
