Controller
We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting and payroll operations for a growing restaurant and hospitality organization. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and financial insights that support operational decision-making.
The Controller will partner closely with Finance, Operations, and HR leadership to maintain financial integrity, improve processes, and support the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
- Manage the monthly close process and deliver timely, accurate financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control standards
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting
- Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights and performance analysis
- Lead audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
- Strengthen financial processes and support accounting system improvements
- Manage and develop members of the accounting and payroll team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS)
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems
- Experience in restaurant, hospitality, or retail accounting preferred
